UEFA European Championship Final - France v Portugal
After a Hamilton and MUZZA win, it's now down to Payet to cap off a perfect day and see Ronaldo end up in tears.

I'm predicting an easy win and going for 3-1 to the French.

That's shit if it's true - but I didn't think it was affecting his game. I still
Think there's a lack of faith in him from deschamps - shown by him Not being on all the set pieces (fucking pogba took a free kick in the semi in perfect range for payet who is frankly one of if not the best in the world) and being the first in hauled off if things aren't goin right.

He was still looking dangerous last night and it was very early to take him off. Instil find it a very odd decision

Media saying Payet was substituted because the Portugakl fans were getting on his back after the Ronaldo tackle and Dechumps thought it was affecting his game.

Awful final

Portugal not really a worthy winner but fair play to them had some real good performances during the tournament most notably from Nani and Guerreiro

United must be mad to pay £100M for Pogba off the back of that, surely alot less would get Kroos ?

So i managed to fall asleep through during all of Portugals games - they are that entertaining.

As for the final, Great to see Portugal win without that Ronaldo, just goes to show that its about a team rather than one person. I also found Ronaldo to be disrespectful to the manager by getting in the technical area then followed by the way he held the cup, cradling it as if it was all his. The thing is its all about Ronaldo.....but what was proved last night is that Portugal were more than this greasy talented selfish footballer.

Deschamps - Pundits lauding his tactical nouse? I think he made a glaring error taking of Payet. Payet was the provider from midfielder. Pogba - I have yet to date see this bloke have a good game, completely overshadowed by Sissoko £100m for Bogbrush you have to be mental...

Deschamps was dreadful - why keep Pogba deep against the 2nd shittest team in the tournament and tell him to get upfield against Germany? And the Bobby Charlton substitution was completely stupid.
But the format is dreadful. They just want to rake the money in so make it that hardly anyone gets knocked out and in the end the team playing for draws all the way through wins it .... partly because the team that played the best football all way through are now knackered.

I found this tournament interesting but agree with the pundits that the football standards were not that high. The fact that two unfancied teams played in quarter finals added interest then we had what we thought were the two best teams playing one another for a final place and automatic win.

We knew how Portugal were going to play and when Ronaldo went off Danny Murphy made a point about it perhaps reinforcing Portugal defensively so that France would find it harder to score. In the end I don't think that Deschamps made the most of his squad.

One of the worst football matches I've ever seen.

Was like watching Rotherham vs Burnley in 1997.

Amazing to think if it wasn't for the rule change that three make it out of the group then Portugal wouldn't have made it past that.

Fucking stupid really if you think about it.

Re: UEFA European Championship Final - France v Portugal
France played last night almost like they assumed they just had to turn up to win especially when ronaldo went off

Deschamps subs made no sense - payet was their best player with sissoko when he took him off, it was griezman who was crap. Similarly, chasing a goal, martial
Should have come on not gignac - gignac must have started offside about ten times.

Quite why heading go for it I don't know. Why at 1-0 down he took sissoko off and not Sagna (who was crap)!god knows. And how pogba is worth £100m I will never know - I'm guessing he emulates yay a in that he can play deeper but really is only any good playin further up the pitch

Pepe and the Portugal keeper were excellent last night though - very impressive. Another euros won by a shit dull team though

Look the repetition gang is gathering their forces.

But on your post, as you acknowledged before, most things are "so, comma, intelligent," (dare I say MASSIVELY so) if you and your posts are the baseline.

Classic themes but verging on boring repetition at this point. Short, and to the, albeit weak, point, though.

Re: UEFA European Championship Final - France v Portugal
Turned it off after they subbed Payet

Okay tournament that I think fizzled because none of the teams that looked good at points could maintain it.

So you are left with a winner, credit to them on the day, who got there because of a watered down format.

Thought it would have been a nice story for France to win and Payet to grab a trophy, maybe delay his need for another immediately and help keep him with us while we build.

But oh well and I think he will be here this year at least anyway.

Re: UEFA European Championship Final - France v Portugal
Everyone did go on about Portugal not winning games in 90 mins but they didn't lose any in 90 mins either.
Defence & keeper were very good with Pepe outstanding.

Like many said it was a mediocre tournament at best with few memorable matches. Italy's performance against Spain was probably the one I enjoyed most.
To me the Euro's are about big games between the likes of Germany, Spain, France , Italy & England but this tournament was more about the likes of Iceland & Wales.
International football is in desperate need of an outstanding tournament & a great final ....: can't see it coming at the moment.
And England will be in the doghouse for a long time with most fans disillusioned and happy to forget about them and concentrate on the real football.
COYI !

Re: UEFA European Championship Final - France v Portugal
France started off each half well then just dropped deeper and deeper when Portugal had the ball. There was no zip or fire about them. Portugal looked dangerous every time they attacked.
